The awards were presented on Tuesday, September 23rd during Oracle OpenWorld 2008 at the Oracle Excellence Awards Reception at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco by Steve Miranda, Senior Vice President, Fusion Application Development and Hasan Rizvi, Senior Vice President, Oracle Fusion Middleware. Basheer Khan, CEO, Emily Ruddo, Vice President, Oracle Practice, and Mike Adams, Vice President, Business Development accepted the award on behalf of Innowave at Tuesday’s ceremony.

Innowave received four nominations and was one of only two systems integrators to win a 2008 award, among the top 22 winners selected from 140 nominations representing multiple industries submitted across the globe. This is the third Oracle Excellence Award won by Innowave Technology in two years.

Internship

Innowave strongly believes in sharing our knowledge of Oracle Technology as well as contributing to the local community.  The Innowave Internship Program embraces both of these ideas by offering informal hands-on, industry-leading training to local technical resources free of charge.  The topics of this training evolve as the technology industry evolves, ensuring that the content is always valid and relevant.  Based on the content being delivered, Innowave will select members of its expert staff to deliver the training, with several of the sessions led by senior architects and executive management.  This investment in local resources has proven very rewarding for both the attendees as well as the Innowave team.  Following the 6-8 session internship, Innowave will assess its needs for full-time resources and may extend offers to any qualified, promising individuals from the internship program.

The questions and answers below provide more detailed information about the internship program at Innowave.

When are the internship programs offered?
Innowave schedules the internship programs based on the availability of interested interns and the availability of internal resources to deliver the training.

How can I get involved in this internship program?
Resumes should be emailed to careers@innowavetech.com with a letter explaining your interest in the Internship Program.  Innowave will then contact each potential intern to determine if he or she will be included in a future program.

What time commitment is required for the Internship Program?
The Internship Program lasts 3-4 weeks with two sessions each week based on the topics being covered.  The sessions are three hours each and are scheduled from 2:00pm until 5:00pm in the Innowave Irvine office.  The days of the workshop will be the same each week (usually Wednesday and Thursday).  There is no remote training available, and interns should plan to attend all sessions.  If an intern cannot attend all sessions, he or she should inform Innowave of the schedule conflict immediately.  In addition to the in-class time, there will be homework assigned to the interns that should be completed by the following session.  Interns should plan on 2-3 hours of homework following each session.

What types of topics are covered in the training?
The Innowave Internship Program always covers system integration concepts, specifically Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) using Oracle SOA Suite and Oracle JDeveloper.  The exact agenda will be distributed prior to the start of the Internship Program and may include additional topics.  All topics will be based on Oracle technology.

What qualifications are required for potential interns to be accepted into the program?
Innowave is looking for computer-savvy individuals who are interested in a career in technology consulting.  It is helpful to have experience in at least one procedural programming language and exposure to basic relational database concepts such as SQL.

What do interns need to provide or do to prepare?
Interns must supply their own laptop (minimum 1GB RAM) for installation of the Oracle tools and execution of the labs and homework.  Laptop specification details will be sent as part of the internship preparation communication.

Can current students participate?
Current students can participate, although schedules need to be verified to make sure there are no conflicts between class and internship schedules.

Redwood Shores, California, July 15, 2008 - Today Oracle announced that Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA), which manages an Amtrak intercity passenger train service in eight Northern California counties, has selected Oracle® SOA Suite, a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, to serve as the foundation of its Automated Ticket Validation Services initiative.


Serving 16 stations along a 170-mile rail corridor, CCJPA offers a convenient way to travel between the Sierra Foothills, Sacramento, the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley/San Jose, California. Committed to continually improving customer service and security, CCJPA plans to launch California’s first real-time ticket sales and validation system on its trains. The system, scheduled to go live in 2009, will be powered by Oracle software including Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Database and Oracle Real Application Clusters on Linux. Once the Automated Ticket Validation Services program is live, CCJPA conductors will use hand held scanners to validate and sell tickets to customers on the train, improving security with the ability to track when passengers board and exit the train. The scanners will utilize Web and business process execution language (BPEL) based services to link CCJPA and Amtrak’s IT systems.


Innowave, a Certified Partner in the Oracle PartnerNetwork, will help CCJPA implement the Oracle-based program.

Malibu, California, May 23, 2008 - Innowave Technology participated and was one of the sponsors of the 2008 Palisades - Bruce Attarian Memorial Golf Classic at Malibu Country Club to benefit Pancreas Cancer Research. Bruce Attarian was an avid football fan who supported high school athletics. A former roommate of Carter Austin’s, Bruce participated in the first two Palisades High School Football Golf tournaments and also sponsored a hole on behalf of his company – Mutual of Omaha.  Bruce died of pancreatic cancer last April, 2007.  We have all been affected by cancer through the loss of a loved one or watching our friends and family battle such a devastating disease.  All of the proceeds from this event go to the battle to cure cancer. Hope you can participate next time!
